The research papers prepared by our faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özal YILDIRIM and Dr. Assistant Professor Yunus SANTUR, in collaboration with their graduate students, have been published in the 'Diagnostics' journal. These works mark the first articles with the name of Fırat University's Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering department in the scientific community. In the 2022 evaluation, 'Diagnostics,' with an impact factor of 3.6, publishes current studies in international medical diagnostics. The health-related research using artificial intelligence by our faculty members has been recognized as worthy of publication in the journal.
The research paper titled 'An Explainable Vision Transformer Model Based White Blood Cells Classification and Localization,' conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özal YILDIRIM and Res. Asst. Oğuzhan KATAR, contains significant results in the field of transformer models and explainable models, which are currently popular in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The study on white blood cells visualizes the areas on the cell where the AI model focuses during decision-making. This allows healthcare professionals to make rapid decisions with confidence during the clinical decision-making process using a reliable model.
Dr. Assistant Professor Yunus SANTUR and Adem KUZU, in their research paper titled 'Early Diagnosis and Classification of Fetal Health Status from a Fetal Cardiotocography Dataset Using Ensemble Learning,' have developed a machine learning approach that can detect the heart health of babies in the womb. With this research, they present a significant contribution to the early detection of the health status of fetuses in the womb.
We congratulate our faculty members and their co-authors and wish them continued success.
