General Information

Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering undergraduate program focuses on artificial intelligence and data science, which is one of the fastest growing fields of today, located at the intersection of informatics and engineering disciplines. The program aims to provide students with a strong theoretical background and practical skills in areas such as software development, algorithm design, data management, statistical analysis, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and big data technologies. In this four-year program, which is taught in Turkish, basic engineering courses are offered along with courses on contemporary technologies, and students' professional experience is reinforced through laboratory applications, project-based studies and internships. The program aims to train engineers who closely follow the needs of the sector and international developments, think analytically, are solution-oriented, ethically responsible and open to lifelong learning.

History

Our Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, which is built on the deep-rooted academic history of Fırat University and the strong infrastructure of the Faculty of Engineering, one of the leading faculties in Turkey, has started accepting students as of the 2023-2024 academic year. Founded in 1975, the Faculty of Engineering of our University, which has become one of Turkey's leading research and education institutions over the years, has trained many successful engineers and scientists both nationally and internationally, and has become an important center that shapes the sector with scientific research. The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, which was established as a continuation of this strong legacy, aims to train engineers who closely follow technological developments, have analytical thinking competence and can develop data-driven systems. Our department focuses on today's and future technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics and intelligent systems with a strong faculty with national and international academic studies.
