Purpose:
The Minor Program Coordination Office is responsible for ensuring the effective, orderly, and regulation-compliant implementation of minor programs within the department, enabling students to specialize in an additional field of interest alongside their major.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Application and Evaluation Process:
To evaluate the academic performance and application documents of students applying for the minor program, determine candidates who meet the necessary criteria, and submit applications to the departmental board.
Course Planning and Academic Monitoring:
To monitor the courses required within the minor program and assist students in planning to avoid course conflicts.
Academic Advising:
To provide necessary academic guidance to minor program students throughout the program; monitoring their course selections, academic performance, and program progress.
Content and Compatibility Review:
To ensure that the content of minor program courses is compatible with related major programs, considering their academic alignment.
Admission and Withdrawal Procedures:
To ensure that procedures for students admitted to or voluntarily withdrawing from the minor program are carried out in accordance with university regulations.
Regulations and Information Sharing:
To follow up on current university regulations and academic calendar related to the minor program and inform both students and faculty members accordingly.
Monitoring Graduation Requirements:
To check whether students fulfill the academic requirements necessary for successful completion of the minor program and support them throughout the process.
