Purpose:
The Unit Social Elective Course Coordination Office operates to ensure that social elective courses offered by the university are selected efficiently and consciously by department students. It is responsible for monitoring the implementation of these courses, the course registration process, and their academic compatibility.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Monitoring the Course Pool:
To regularly follow the university’s pool of social elective courses, determine suitable options for department students, and announce them accordingly.
Support During Registration Process:
To inform and guide students during the registration of social elective courses, and assist in resolving issues such as course conflicts or quota limitations.
Monitoring Academic Compatibility and Equivalency:
To evaluate whether the elective courses align with the overall program learning outcomes and provide suggestions when necessary.
Communication and Coordination:
To facilitate communication between the instructors of elective courses and students, and to convey updates regarding these courses to the department administration.
Course Opening and Closure Process:
To contribute to decisions on whether planned social elective courses will be opened based on student demand and available quotas.
Evaluation of Student Feedback:
To gather student satisfaction and suggestions related to social elective courses and contribute to the quality improvement process.
Reporting:
To periodically share observations regarding course preferences, student success, and trends with the department administration.
