First Place Celebration at TEKNOFEST 2024 Awards Ceremony!

A Remarkable Achievement by the Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Department at TEKNOFEST 2024!

The ReNICames team, consisting of first-year Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering students Recep Bülbül and Meryem Arpacı, under the mentorship of Res. Assist. Mehmet Arzu, achieved an outstanding success in the TEKNOFEST Turkish Natural Language Processing Competition (Free Category). Competing with their legal chatbot project named “YargıtAI”, they outperformed 77 finalist teams and secured first place, earning the right to participate in the TEKNOFEST 2024 Champions League held in Adana.

In the Champions League Competition, they successfully made it to the top 50 teams out of 170, navigating through challenging elimination rounds. They had the prestigious opportunity to present their project to Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, T3 Foundation Board Member İrem Bayraktar, and Gamze Özçelik, the founder of the Umuda Koşanlar Association.

Our students proudly received their first-place award from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the award ceremony in Adana, bringing immense pride to our university and department. This incredible achievement, especially in their first year of study, highlights the visionary potential of our department.
